Xiaomi XRing 01 Chip: What We Know So Far
Xiaomi has unveiled its first in-house flagship smartphone chip, the XRing 01. This move signals the company’s push to rely less on chipmakers like Qualcomm and MediaTek.
The XRing 01’s development kicked off in September 2014. It reflects Xiaomi’s decade-long effort to innovate and stand on its own in the tech world.
Leaks hint that the XRing 01 uses TSMC’s 3nm process and packs 19 billion transistors. CPU details vary—some say it’s octa-core, others decacore—with Cortex-X925, A725, and A520 cores. The GPU is likely an Imagination Technologies IMG DXT72.
Benchmarks show the XRing 01 hitting 2709 single-core and 8125 multi-core on Geekbench 6. That puts it close to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

This chip gives Xiaomi more control over its supply chain. It could also improve device performance and cut costs over time.
The Xiaomi 15S Pro will likely be the first phone to use the XRing 01. There’s talk it might appear in mid-range devices too.
Xiaomi poured $13.5 billion into the XRing 01 project. A team of over 2,500 people worked to bring it to life.
This launch places Xiaomi alongside Apple, Samsung, and Huawei. These are the few phone makers designing their own chips.
The XRing 01 looks promising, but challenges remain. Xiaomi must match giants like Qualcomm and MediaTek in performance and efficiency.
With its launch days away in late May, the XRing 01 is a big step for Xiaomi. Everyone’s watching to see how it performs in real devices.
